User Google+ Sudah Mencapai 62 Juta

Google telah mencoba mempertajam tingkat brand awareness dengan berbagai iklan dari web browser Chrome, Google Search dan jejaring sosial Google+. Tampaknya cara ini berhasil, Google+ dilaporkan menambahkan banyak pengguna baru. Jejaring sosial ini sekarang sudah punya lebih dari 62 juta pengguna dan bertambah sebanyak 625 ribu pengguna tiap harinya menurut ahli statistik Paul Allen.

Apa yang mengejutkan adalah hampir seperempat dari semua pengguna Google+ bergabung pada bulan Desember. Jika peningkatan jumlah pengguna terus seperti ini, Allen memprediksi bahwa Google+ akan mencapai 100 juta pengguna di tanggal 25 Februari 2012, 200 juta pengguna di 3 Agustus, dan akan mengakhiri tahun 2012 dengan 293 juta pengguna. Namun, ia juga percaya bahwa 2012 akan menjadi tahun kejayaan untuk situs jejaring sosial tersebut, dan bisa mencapai lebih dari 400 juta pengguna pada akhir tahun. Yang pasti, angka-angka dari Allen hanya menunjukkan berapa banyak orang yang sign up untuk Google + dan tidak ada indikasi seberapa sering para pengguna tersebut benar-benar memanfaatkan akun mereka secara teratur.

Pengapalan Samsung Galaxy Note Tembus Angka 1 Juta Unit

Samsung melaporkan bahwa mereka mencatat lonjakan penjualan untuk produk ini di berbagai negara meliputi Perancis, Jerman, Hong Kong dan Taiwan. Untuk pasar terbesar yaitu Amerika Serikat, mereka masih belum menetapkan jadwal pasti untuk waktu perilisan.

Angka pengiriman 1 juta unit tersebut bukan berarti mereka telah benar-benar sukses menjual 1 juta unit (biasanya kurang dari jumlah tersebut walaupun masih belum ada angka pasti dari Samsung), tapi jelas merupakan pencapaian yang sangat bagus mengingat produk ini tidak umum karena terlalu besar untuk sebuah smartphone, namun juga terlalu kecil untuk sebuah tablet. Terlebih lagi waktu peluncurannya yang masih 1 bulan lalu yaitu pertengahan bulan November.

Kompetisi untuk produk dengan range ukuran 5 inci - 6 inci memang belum terlalu ketat untuk saat ini, tapi kesuksesan Galaxy Note ini mungkin akan segera mengundang partisipasi dari para kompetitor lain. Para eksekutif Samsung dikabarkan sangat bangga dengan terobosan yang dihasilkan oleh perangkat ini dan menjanjikan lebih banyak lagi di masa yang akan datang.

Gambaran Roadmap Windows Phone Untuk 2012

Dari roadmap ini bisa kita lihat bahwa mereka ingin menggaris awahi produk Windows Phone 7 di tahun 2010 sebagai sebuah produk hign end yang ‘berbeda’. Kemudian diikuti dengan ‘Mango’ di kuartal ke empat di tahun 2011 yang menitikberatkan pada peningkatan dari fitur-fitur baru, bahasa baru serta rilisan untuk negara-negara baru.

Untuk Tango mungkin akan sedikit mengecewakan (atau malah menggembirakan?) karena hanya berkonsentrasi pada menyediakan Windows Phone 7 untuk pangsa pasar low-end dan berfokus pada ‘best prices’, produk ini akan hadir pada kuartal ke dua dari tahun 2012.

Kejutan utama yang paling ditunggu-tunggu mungkin dari Apollo yang akan muncul pada kuartal ke empat 2012, dengan Microsoft berharap peningkatan volume secara menyeluruh dan menyebut Apollo sebagai high-end superphones (kemungkinan besar dengan prosesor dual core plus layar HD). Juga tak lupa sambil membidik pasar bisnis dengan produk ini.
